“A longplay is a play-through of a computer or video game, created with the intent of completing it as fully as possible, mainly for the purposes of nostalgia, preservation, and possibly as a walkthrough.”
In Abandonware LP, I play and gently commentate games that have been lost to history. My goal is to study not only the games as complete works, but also their individual facets: mechanics, design elements, and storytelling styles that missed the ferry to the present day.
My first project is The Magic Candle II, a role-playing game that, I feel, has been wrongly canonized as merely a flawed sequel to a now-forgotten classic. The game is uninviting by today’s standards—but it’s also brilliant. I hope to show you that in this series.
